Established
in 1993, Active Sound has grown at a steady rate providing
quality service and productions for the music industry
and corporate clients on the Sunshine Coast.
In March 2007, Stuart Jarman and Jeff Dorr purchased
Active Sound. With a wealth of experience and grand
visions for their new venture, Active Sound was destined
for success.
Stuart, in his 17th year as a sound engineer has gained
valuable experience and a wealth of knowledge. He has
previously worked for companies such as Brisbane Sound
Hire, ACP & IJS, and has worked extensively throughout
Australia and Europe. His broad & diverse knowledge
comes from touring with bands such as Keith Urban, The
Wailers and The Angels, just to name a few.
Jeff Dorr has owned and successfully operated his own
production company in South East Queensland for almost
15 years. Jeff brings to Active Sound his business and
technical knowledge along with his attention to detail.
Jeff's electrical background and passion for sound make
him the perfect person for our installation division.
Together Stuart and Jeff have taken Active Sound to
a new level of professionalism and quality. "We
want to put service back into the industry "Stuart
says "In Queensland we have quality systems, engineers
and companies, but service is at a premium. It's our
goal to turn that around."
The future is bright for Active Sound since the recent
amalgamation with Lindsay Hall and Rod Fishwick.
Lindsay's experience stretches back some 30 years of
real-time production. He hand crafted Hunter Sound into
the largest leading production company in Newcastle
and the NSW central coast. For over 20 years Lindsay
has been servicing clients Australia wide. His knowledge
of productions is legendary and certainly unsurpassed
on the Sunshine Coast. His list of credits (too extensive
to list) is truly remarkable.
Lindsay brings with him 48 Nexo Alpha E and Nexo PS15
used as wedges which is the only current technology
on the sunshine coast. Lindsay explains, "Nexo
give us the perfect solution for the service that Active
Sound provides, supplying us with excellent value for
money, ease of assembly, awesome reliability and exceptional
customer support. With all this there isn't anything
we can't achieve".
Rod Fishwick is the latest addition to Active Sound.
Heading their corporate division, Rod's energy an experience
is second to none. He's the previous owner of Aboard
Entertainment in Canberra for over 15 years and has
recently finished a 3 year term as Operation's Manager/Technical
Director at Avcom on the Sunshine Coast.
Rod has brought with him a long list of loyal corporate
clients. His achievements include The Daniel Morcombe
foundation annual ball, Dragons Abreast, an international
event designed to raise money for Breast cancer, and
Telstra road shows and award nights.
Rod has also added an EV X-Array system to the inventory.
That's just the tip of the ice-berg for Rod, known as
"The General". His determination, ability
and eye for detail means he is a purist when it comes
to quality production.
Rod knows corporate companies expect first class service
and that's what we provide, without the usual hassles.
Together the new Active Sound is a "brains trust"
of production. With a wealth of experience, talent and
creativity they are focused on delivering the best product
available.
We aim to provide a "One Stop Shop" for ALL
organisations and individuals needing either a complete
production package or just some sound advice from the
leaders in the entertainment industry on the Sunshine
Coast.
